New Jersey Bottom Fishing

If you are looking for a real relaxing and enjoyable day on the water then bottom fishing just might be your thing. We aboard the Mary Lou Crew started out with this kind of fishing, so to say we have some bottom fishing knowledge is an understatement. Whether it is fishing the inshore or offshore lumps for that doormat fluke or drifting around a wreck, we are always in search of that 10-pound trophy. We have caught are share of big fluke over the years and the biggest to date is a whooping 13 pounds. Fluke fishing is one of the most relaxing yet enjoyable types of fishing you will experience. If you are looking for a trip to take the family and kids out on fluke fishing is just the one your looking for. We aboard the Mary Lou Crew still on are days off from bottom fishing love to go drift for that trophy fluke.

If you are looking for a little more action and size doesn’t matter then fishing for sea bass is the way to go. We will take you out and drop on one of are secret wrecks or inshore structure and get ready for non-stop action. It is nothing to go out for a day of sea bass fishing and catch close to 200 fish!!!! Of course like I said before these fish are not known for there size but they provide great action and an excellent meal for the family or friends to enjoy. Sea bass fishing usually starts in mid to late May and runs right through the summer months into September and October. If you are looking to catch a lot of fish and enjoy fish as a table fair then look no further and inquire about sea bass fishing.

Once the waters cool off and the sunbathers clear off the beaches it is time for tautog better known as black fishing. These white chinned fish like the cold water and the season usually doesn’t start until mid November, but you can tell when the season is getting close because all the locals are getting fired up to get out on there favorite piece of structure to target these bait bandits. If you have never tried black fishing and have the patience to learn, because it takes a little practice before you get the knack, then give us a call and we can set something up. Black fishing is done over some tuff bottom structure and these fish live inside this, so once you think you got what it takes to bring these tuff nosed fish up from the bottom you then have to figure out how not to get hung up on the bottom! If you like challenges and can except losing bait on occasion, then you must try the best inshore game fishing around and book a black fishing trip!
